Target audience

This activity is designed for interventional cardiologists, general and non-invasive cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, cardiology and surgery fellows, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and program coordinators.

Learning Objectives

Following the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss clinical and technical challenges and solutions in transcatheter aortic valve replacement therapies
  • Identify types of mitral and tricuspid valve pathology, develop appropriate case planning and procedural solutions
  • Discuss how to avoid and manage uncommon major complications of trans-catheter valve therapies
  • Develop best clinical practice or model of care for pre, intra and post procedural care
  • Discuss recent clinal trials and real-world data on recent advances in catheter-based valve therapies
  • Design strategies to reduce procedural screening and wait time, procedural cost and peri-procedural complications
  • Design model of care to improve in-hospital, short and long-term clinical outcomes
